Well this is a first - we're having a giveaway!
I hope to make this a monthly thing! The plan is for each giveaway to have a unique purpose. If you haven't noticed, I think everything has a purpose, even furniture on the street. Anyways, when a long time family friend (who's dad is best friends with my dad) emailed me while interning with Amani Ya Juu in DC this summer, we decided a giveaway was in order. Let me tell you about it! Their site says is perfectly:
Amani Ya Juu (meaning “higher peace” in Swahili) or Amahoro ava Hejuru (in Kinyarwanda) is a sewing-marketing-training project for marginalized women in Africa. The project serves a two-fold purpose. First, Amani gives African women the opportunity to improve their sewing and marketing skills. The women gain experience in purchasing, bookkeeping, skill training, quality control, management and design. Second, Amani aims to sow seeds of peace in the hearts of the women as they grow in community and in their faith together.
I just LOVE their sensibility and focus. Not to mention their darling stuff for sale in their online shop. It all looks right out of Anthropologie! Not kidding! I could go on - but instead, how bout the giveaway?
I'm giving away this apron (that I definitely tried on and loved) and a set of cloth napkins. Everything is sitting in my apartment right now and I'm tempted to just keep it all because it's all so darn cute! Guess that would defeat the purpose of the giveaway....
All right! To snag one of these darling items, just leave a comment below. We'll randomly select a winner for the apron and napkins. You have until tomorrow (August 20th) at 10am. Ready set go COMMENT!
